Senior Patrol Leader
Senior Patrol Leader
Responsibilities
- runs all camp youth meetings, events, and activities
- runs the patrol leaders’ council (PLC) meetings
- appoints other Troop junior leaders with the advice and counsel of the Scoutmaster
- assigns duties and responsibilities to junior leaders
- assists the Scoutmaster with junior leader training
- sets a good example
- wears the Scout uniform correctly
- lives by the Scout Oath and Law
- shows Scout spirit
Training Required:
- Den Chief Training
- Camp Orientation
Optional Training:
- National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
Position Requirements:
There are a few requirements you must meet to be considered for the role of SPL or ASPL.
- Hold rank of at least 1st Class or equivalent
- Venturing Pathfinder or Sea Scout Able Rank
- Held or currently hold a position of responsibility within their Troop or Crew
- Be at least 14 years of age at the start of camp. 13 with a parent volunteering full time in camp
- Signed copy of the Code of the 2019 Code of Conduct
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
Responsibilities:
- helps the senior patrol leader lead opening & closing ceremonies, final day program, and other activities
- runs the troop in the absence of the senior patrol leader
- helps train and supervise the Den Chiefs (Program Areas and Dens)
- serves as a member of the patrol leaders’ council
- sets a good example
- wears the Scout uniform correctly
- lives by the Scout Oath and Law
- shows Scout spirit
- lends a hand controlling the dens and building den spirit

- Camp Orientation
Optional Training:
- National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

Den Chief
Den Chief
Responsibilities
- knows the purposes of Cub Scouting
- helps Cub Scouts achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting
- serves as the activities assistant at camp
- sets a good example through attitude and uniforming
- is a friend to the members of the den
- helps lead daily den activities at camp
- helps the den in its part of the opening and closing ceremonies
- receives training from camp with the assistance of the PLC
- takes Den Chief Training
- encourages Cub Scouts to become Webelos Scouts when they are eligible
- encourages Webelos Scouts to join a Scout troop upon graduation
- helps the denner and assistant denner to be leaders.
- wears the camp uniform correctly
- lives by the Scout Oath and Law
- shows Scout spirit

Position Requirements:
- Signed copy of 2019 Code of Conduct
- At least 2nd Class or equivalent in Venturing or Sea Scouts.
- Scouts and non-Scouts volunteering below 13 years of age must be accompanied with an full time adult volunteer. Exception is if the youth served last year as a volunteer in camp.
