SPL/ASPL Job Description
The SPL will be an integral part of Cub Camp. The Cub Scouts look up to their SPL so we expect someone to be responsible and mature; to act in a Scouting manner as a leader. Each Cub Camp session will require a Senior Patrol Leader and one or more Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders. There are two sessions of Cub Camp:
The SPL and ASPLs will lead the opening and closing ceremonies each day at camp. They will need to keep the campers engaged during these ceremonies which include an opening and closing flag ceremony, an appropriate skit, and a couple of fun songs. You will dismiss the campers at the end of the opening ceremony in an orderly fashion to move to their 1st rotation.
During camp rotations, you will need to check the water stations to see if they need to be refilled, award dens with Spirit Awards for their cheers, and check in with the other Boy Scouts serving around camp. All Boy Scouts receives service hours for their service at Cub Camp.

Requirements
There are a few requirements you must meet to be considered for the role of SPL or ASPL.
Hold rank of at least 1st Class or equivalent
Venturing Pathfinder or Sea Scout Able Rank
Held or currently hold a position of responsibility within their Troop or Crew
Be at least 14 years of age at the start of camp.
SPL/ASPL Application Process
You MUST fill out the Youth Volunteer Registration Form as well.
To apply for a position at Cub Camp as a SPL/ASPL, please complete the online application below. Application must be submitted no later than April 8, 2024.
Troop NR18 Scoutmasters & Camp Directors will conduct interviews with candidates in early April and make a selection. Even if you are not selected as the Cub Camp SPL, there will be other volunteer roles that you can fill during Cub Camp
